BA - Contract to Perm

Required Technical Skills
• Intermediate and/or Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Share Point, and VISIO
• Intermediate experience with UML
• Experience with defect and change management tools & processes
• Experience with, HTML, JavaScript, Flash, Team Foundation Server, and QTP a plus

Required Qualifications:
• 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Business Analyst in an organization developing web-based applications
• Bachelors Degree in Business, Computer Science or Information Management Systems
• Proficient project management skills, the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, and report project status
• Masters Degree, knowledge of CMMI processes, Usability (related to standards for UI Web Based Aps), and HIPAA are very strong pluses

Required Business Skills:
• Able to learn and obtain advanced knowledge of the business area you are supporting
• Ability to assist in prioritizing and scoping projects based on business impact, expected time frames, and costs.
• Be able to learn the applications and systems in use along with understanding which systems are impacted by new business requirements.
• Ability to review business requirements and discuss high-level options for implementation based on time/scope/cost constraints.
• Ability to identify, justify, and model areas for business processes
• Extensive experience with eliciting, defining, and documenting end user requirements. This includes identifying gaps in requirements, resolving inconsistencies, holding JAD sessions, and prioritizing requirements.
• Ability to constructively give and receive feedback as well as manage change
• Ability to facilitate a group (5+ people) to a common objective.
• Exhibit good conflict management skills and negotiation techniques
• Ability to exhibit strong leadership and teamwork skills in the appropriate settings
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience and excellent understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle particularly the “Analysis” phase
• Ability to work with multiple teams (Customers, Subject Matter Experts, Development, Quality Assurance, and Configuration Management)
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to complete tasks independently to meet deliverable deadlines

Required Abilities & Experience:
• Apply a broad knowledge of various business processes, functions and technical expertise to accurately anticipate how requirements impact applications and organization
• Must be able to facilitate business requirements gathering and definition in various formats including joint collaboration sessions with Business, Development, IT, and QA.
• Must be able to work with multiple Subject Matter Experts, and One-on-One user interviews in order to provide solutions that meet business and user needs
• Must be able to organize the requirements and present them back to the Subject Matter Expert and Customer in a form that is understandable to the customer according to their skill set and knowledge
• Formulate requirements in a manner utilizing UML with Use Cases, Actors, Business Rules, Use Case and Activity diagrams
• Be able to become a business domain expert in the business unit(s) supported and understand the systems and capabilities of the applications.
• Analyze business operations to understand their strengths / weaknesses and determine opportunities to improve / automate processes and functions.
• Assist in business process re-design and documentation; translate high level business requirements into user and functional requirements and manage changes to specifications
• Be sure test and integration plans meet requirement objectives following SDLC, project management life cycle, and best practices & comply with CMMI related processes along with adhering to Change Control and Defect Management Procedures.

Job Description:
*The Business Analyst works with subject matter experts and customers to serve as liaisons between the business communities to understand business processes, conduct root cause analysis in support of translating business requirements into business, functional, and non functional requirements. The Analyst must be technical and understand applications, from the front and back end including operating systems, browsers, databases, and overall web based applications.
